First generation iPads are for many outdated, and one of the older models’ biggest issues is battery life. For applications where iPads are mounted and allowing continuous charging, these “old” devices perform perfectly.
Many customers contact us and purchase our iPad mounts for exactly that. Here is an excellent example.
NCSU (North Carolina State University) had some of these first generation iPads lying around. Here is what Robert Holloman from NCSU’s DELTA told us:
“We are using the brackets to re-purpose old first-generation iPads to use as digital signs for some of our conference rooms, using the EventBoard app and Google calendar.”

We are always looking for innovative ways to use our products, and we love it when our amazing customers provide us with invaluable feedback, like this written review and video from Brad from Chickasha Oklahoma, showcasing our bracket.
Brad's iPad Wall Bracket Review
I wanted to do a review of this iPad wall bracket I purchased from iPadWallBracket.com. My main reason for purchasing this unit is my wife wanted a convenient way to check our video surveillance system without having to walk to the monitor located in another room. She wanted something centrally located so anyone could easily see who was at the front door.
I initially shopped for a small LCD monitor, but ran across this bracket and thought of the convenience of using an iPad and how I could also use it for other things as well such as streaming music. Since the iPad uses Wifi, it easily connects to my computer to access my video surveillance system with a user friendly app specifically designed for this application.
The photo shows the back panel of the 2 piece bracket. The bracket can be flush-mounted into the wall, or surface-mounted as shown here.

The quality, fit and finish of this unit are excellent. The company that created this product really did their homework. The bracket is made of metal and is light but sturdy. Even the screw holes are beveled! My initial plan was to flush mount the unit into the wall, thinking it would look better than surface mounting it. The bracket looked so good surface mounted that I chose not to cut my sheetrock.
In this picture you are looking at the backside of the face plate.

You can see the hinge insert tabs to the right of the bracket and the magnetic lock to the left. Notice the black foam pads on both the face plate and the base of the unit. These pads hold the iPad securely in place, not allowing it to move or get scratched. The later model iPad’s such as mine will require thicker pads to hold it securely as they are thinner than the earlier generation units. They also sell these pads on iPadWallBracket.com.
Some of the tools I used to install the bracket were just a simple Phillips head screwdriver and a couple of Phillips screws. iPadWallBracket.com sells mounting kits for these but I chose to use my own. I used a small level and a 3/4″ hole boring spade bit which is the size of the hole in the back of the bracket. This is to run whatever wires or cables you’re using. I’m running a charge cord to a charge cord extension that I will plug-in in my attic. I’m also running 3.5mm audio cable to my attic that then runs to a 3.5mm splitter to my stereos throughout my home. This allows for music to be streamed from different sources throughout my home. What a great feature that is!! Gone are the days of the CD for me.
This is a picture of my video surveillance feed.

I have a high definition surveillance system and you really can’t find a better video screen than what the iPad offers. The picture is just incredible!! This unit will remain on all the time. As you know with an iPad, I can play music while still keeping my video surveillance on the screen!
Here is a picture of the bracket in relation to the wall and surroundings.

It is very discrete so surface mounting is a great option. I am extremely satisfied with this unit and look forward to installing my second iPad wall bracket soon, and maybe a bracket for the mini iPad as well.
Time will tell but these things are just fantastic!!
Conferences are a vital and integral part of the corporate world. There are literally hundreds of thousands of “round table” discussions happening the world over at this very minute – happening in hundreds of thousands of corporate conference rooms!
Is this conference room booked? How many times is this question being asked in the work environment?
Reserving that conference room can be a very stressful proposition to many. Scheduling conflicts arise too many times to count! Each and every meeting is equally important, no doubt, but there is a frustrating possibility that the room you need is already in use exactly when you need it!
Ender Labs has devised a great solution by developing a scheduling software called EventBoard Pro. This software has revolutionized the way corporations handle meeting room scheduling, thus eliminating any conflicts or potential problems.
Here’s how it works. An iPad is placed in a secure and stylish iPad Wall Mount bracket just outside the conference room door. EventBoard Pro is the software that is running on the iPad, and is displaying all the important information pertaining to that conference room – for example – the name and/or number of the room, any current or ongoing meetings, all future meetings that have been pre-scheduled, the participants and topics of each meeting, along with the meeting times, days and dates. Many more scheduling options are available and can be customized to fit the needs of that corporation.
Because the iPad Wall Mount Bracket securely showcases the iPad, the software display is clear, and large enough to easily read, with all important information visible, even from a few steps away. Display customization is an included feature. If a particular room is currently available, the screen displays a large “Room Available” banner that can be seen from across the hallway. If the conference room is free and you need it now, you can quickly “book it” using the iPad touch screen, which alerts others that the room is currently in use, eliminating any conflicts.
Scheduling a meeting is simple by using your existing calendar application. The system can sync with most, if not all, of the calendar apps used in a business environment, because it is using the iPad’s calendar application. Sync with Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook / Exchange, iCloud, AOL, Yahoo!, and Hotmail – EventBoard Pro picks it up and “books” the selected conference room.
This amazing middle school boasting 600 students is involved in some incredible things. They’ve spearheaded major humanitarian projects such as the “Africa Project” where students collect and send supplies of all kinds to South Africa. Beaver Lake Middle School was among the first in the state to launch a Respect & Responsibility leadership program that has become a regional leadership model.
Of course there are a few fun facts as well..Beaver Lake is one of only a few schools in Washington state to have a Wood and Metals shop, AND the only school to have a live mascot! Buddy the Bulldog!
“I chose to use your brackets for the library to enable students to access our card catalog quickly” says Amber Peterson, the school librarian. “Previously students could access the catalog on the desktop computers in our lab but they had to log-on and wait for the computers to warm up.”
“With the instant “on” of the iPads I am finding students are using the catalog much, much more than they did in the past.”
“Students also use the iPad stations for quick look-ups. For example, looking up the capital of Indonesia or how to translate a phrase to Spanish. They are going to the iPads first before asking me for help, which is great. I love the self-sufficiency”
Amber also shared with us a picture of a tall stack of reference books and catalog computer that the iPad stations have replaced. She enthusiastically commented “Pretty Cool!” We couldn’t agree more, Amber!
Educators now realize that the iPad is an excellent and effective tool for learning, and are appearing in schools across the world. The iPad wallmount bracket and its many accessories is the perfect complement to showcase and display these iPads while keeping them securely in place as well as preventing unauthorized software to be accessed.
