First generation iPads are for many outdated, and one of the older models’ biggest issues is battery life. For applications where iPads are mounted and allowing continuous charging, these “old” devices perform perfectly.
Many customers contact us and purchase our iPad mounts for exactly that. Here is an excellent example.
NCSU (North Carolina State University) had some of these first generation iPads lying around. Here is what Robert Holloman from NCSU’s DELTA told us:
“We are using the brackets to re-purpose old first-generation iPads to use as digital signs for some of our conference rooms, using the EventBoard app and Google calendar.”

We are always looking for innovative ways to use our products, and we love it when our amazing customers provide us with invaluable feedback, like this written review and video from Brad from Chickasha Oklahoma, showcasing our bracket.
Brad's iPad Wall Bracket Review
I wanted to do a review of this iPad wall bracket I purchased from iPadWallBracket.com. My main reason for purchasing this unit is my wife wanted a convenient way to check our video surveillance system without having to walk to the monitor located in another room. She wanted something centrally located so anyone could easily see who was at the front door.
I initially shopped for a small LCD monitor, but ran across this bracket and thought of the convenience of using an iPad and how I could also use it for other things as well such as streaming music. Since the iPad uses Wifi, it easily connects to my computer to access my video surveillance system with a user friendly app specifically designed for this application.
The photo shows the back panel of the 2 piece bracket. The bracket can be flush-mounted into the wall, or surface-mounted as shown here.

The quality, fit and finish of this unit are excellent. The company that created this product really did their homework. The bracket is made of metal and is light but sturdy. Even the screw holes are beveled! My initial plan was to flush mount the unit into the wall, thinking it would look better than surface mounting it. The bracket looked so good surface mounted that I chose not to cut my sheetrock.
In this picture you are looking at the backside of the face plate.

You can see the hinge insert tabs to the right of the bracket and the magnetic lock to the left. Notice the black foam pads on both the face plate and the base of the unit. These pads hold the iPad securely in place, not allowing it to move or get scratched. The later model iPad’s such as mine will require thicker pads to hold it securely as they are thinner than the earlier generation units. They also sell these pads on iPadWallBracket.com.
Some of the tools I used to install the bracket were just a simple Phillips head screwdriver and a couple of Phillips screws. iPadWallBracket.com sells mounting kits for these but I chose to use my own. I used a small level and a 3/4″ hole boring spade bit which is the size of the hole in the back of the bracket. This is to run whatever wires or cables you’re using. I’m running a charge cord to a charge cord extension that I will plug-in in my attic. I’m also running 3.5mm audio cable to my attic that then runs to a 3.5mm splitter to my stereos throughout my home. This allows for music to be streamed from different sources throughout my home. What a great feature that is!! Gone are the days of the CD for me.
This is a picture of my video surveillance feed.

I have a high definition surveillance system and you really can’t find a better video screen than what the iPad offers. The picture is just incredible!! This unit will remain on all the time. As you know with an iPad, I can play music while still keeping my video surveillance on the screen!
Here is a picture of the bracket in relation to the wall and surroundings.

It is very discrete so surface mounting is a great option. I am extremely satisfied with this unit and look forward to installing my second iPad wall bracket soon, and maybe a bracket for the mini iPad as well.
Time will tell but these things are just fantastic!!

iPad Wall Bracket Black, Flush Mount, Exposed Home Button, Home Automation
Gary Russel, the President of LiveSmart Technologies, shared with us a recent showcase installation of a home control system Their goal for this project was to achieve the following functionality:
Smart Home system control
LiveSmart technicians chose for this installation the following Apps and systems:
The Lowes Iris system for central control
Q-See system for video surveillance
iTunes, Pandora and SiriusXM for music
Apple Maps App and Google Maps for Maps
The iPad’s built-in slide show for photo frame
For this home installation, the iPad Wall Mounting Bracket chosen was a white, Exposed Home Button, Magnet Latch version.
The installation went smoothly, and to quote Gary “The mount was easy to install and work with.” Our Remote Charging Kit was also considered for this job but ultimately not needed. An electrical outlet was utilized during installation close to the mounting bracket, therefore the standard Apple charger and cable provided was sufficient.

Garry summed up his experience of the installers working with our iPad Mounting Brackets:
“The iPad Wall Mount worked great for our application. The iPad serves as a central controller for the smart home including temperature settings, lighting control, video surveillance and music streaming. The team at iPad Wall Mount is first rate and went above and beyond traditional product support.”

The promise of home automation is one that can be kept so easily with just the push of a button!
Life can be simple and enjoyable by controlling many systems in your home from remote; create different moods by dimming any lighting, listen to music by controlling the stereo system, or raise and lower the blinds as well as the room temperature to create the perfect home theater environment.
Systems to perform these functions and many others have been on the market for years, but it is only in the last few that the quantum leap was made with the use of the iPad as remote control.
Today iPads are the newest and most exciting remote control. The iPad and its smaller sibling the iPad Mini are perfect in-wall or over-desk remote controls and information centers. They are being widely utilized in homes and theaters, as well commercial businesses, and are seen now in luxury vehicles such as yachts, custom coaches and planes!

Getting warmer? Too warm? Maybe you’re cold? iPad to the rescue!
Imagine an iPad mounted in a Wall Mount Bracket in “control central” of a huge building – where engineers, technicians and managers can control all systems with a friendly user-interface with fancy indicators, alerts, and the ability to change settings with a touch of a finger.
Maybe the boiler temperature needs adjusting… Maybe a building floor is too warm or way too cold… Alarm systems or sprinklers need monitoring?
Think of these iPads as internal regulators…a way to monitor and control the building’s systems – and the iPad Wall Mount Brackets external, convenient and secure “houses”, providing easy access, clear display and a safe and stylish mounting solution.
There is a company in the Washington DC area in business for 19 years, that specializes in selecting, installing, integrating and supporting LonWorks based products from hundreds of national brands. This company maintains and supports all of their installed systems, with 99% of all systems still running at 100% capacity.
Enter the iPad Wall Mount Bracket! iPads are configured to communicate with the building’s systems. Technical engineers then log-in to the iPads to monitor and control these systems. This company also operates a 24- hour monitoring and service center to handle alarm functions and customer service needs.
iPad Wall Mount brackets are secure and protect the iPads, allowing the engineers to be hands-free when controlling these systems, eliminating the need to carry their own laptops for monitoring and control. iPads are working hard for businesses everywhere, and are the latest addition to this industry. Utilizing them allows the engineers to work with maximum efficiency, saving time and money. The iPad Wall Mount Brackets makes iPads readily available for use on site while protecting them.
That’s a built-in customer service bonus wrapped with efficiency!
