We are always looking for innovative ways to use our products, and we love it when our amazing customers provide us with invaluable feedback, like this written review and video from Brad from Chickasha Oklahoma, showcasing our bracket.
I wanted to do a review of this iPad wall bracket I purchased from iPadWallBracket.com. My main reason for purchasing this unit is my wife wanted a convenient way to check our video surveillance system without having to walk to the monitor located in another room. She wanted something centrally located so anyone could easily see who was at the front door.
I initially shopped for a small LCD monitor, but ran across this bracket and thought of the convenience of using an iPad and how I could also use it for other things as well such as streaming music. Since the iPad uses Wifi, it easily connects to my computer to access my video surveillance system with a user friendly app specifically designed for this application.
The photo shows the back panel of the 2 piece bracket. The bracket can be flush-mounted into the wall, or surface-mounted as shown here.
The quality, fit and finish of this unit are excellent. The company that created this product really did their homework. The bracket is made of metal and is light but sturdy. Even the screw holes are beveled! My initial plan was to flush mount the unit into the wall, thinking it would look better than surface mounting it. The bracket looked so good surface mounted that I chose not to cut my sheetrock.
In this picture you are looking at the backside of the face plate.
You can see the hinge insert tabs to the right of the bracket and the magnetic lock to the left. Notice the black foam pads on both the face plate and the base of the unit. These pads hold the iPad securely in place, not allowing it to move or get scratched. The later model iPad’s such as mine will require thicker pads to hold it securely as they are thinner than the earlier generation units. They also sell these pads on iPadWallBracket.com.
Some of the tools I used to install the bracket were just a simple Phillips head screwdriver and a couple of Phillips screws. iPadWallBracket.com sells mounting kits for these but I chose to use my own. I used a small level and a 3/4″ hole boring spade bit which is the size of the hole in the back of the bracket. This is to run whatever wires or cables you’re using. I’m running a charge cord to a charge cord extension that I will plug-in in my attic. I’m also running 3.5mm audio cable to my attic that then runs to a 3.5mm splitter to my stereos throughout my home. This allows for music to be streamed from different sources throughout my home. What a great feature that is!! Gone are the days of the CD for me.
This is a picture of my video surveillance feed.
I have a high definition surveillance system and you really can’t find a better video screen than what the iPad offers. The picture is just incredible!! This unit will remain on all the time. As you know with an iPad, I can play music while still keeping my video surveillance on the screen!
Here is a picture of the bracket in relation to the wall and surroundings.
It is very discrete so surface mounting is a great option. I am extremely satisfied with this unit and look forward to installing my second iPad wall bracket soon, and maybe a bracket for the mini iPad as well.
Time will tell but these things are just fantastic!!
