Read about how Duke University Libraries found a new use for their 1st gen iPads by using our mounts:
“When we heard that Duke University Library was doing something cool with their surplus iPads, we had to find out more. In a nutshell, they upcycled several gen1 iPads to create touchscreen room booking interfaces, using LibCal, outside their reservable Project rooms.”
First generation iPads are for many outdated, and one of the older models’ biggest issues is battery life. For applications where iPads are mounted and allowing continuous charging, these “old” devices perform perfectly.
Many customers contact us and purchase our iPad mounts for exactly that. Here is an excellent example.
NCSU (North Carolina State University) had some of these first generation iPads lying around. Here is what Robert Holloman from NCSU’s DELTA told us:
“We are using the brackets to re-purpose old first-generation iPads to use as digital signs for some of our conference rooms, using the EventBoard app and Google calendar.”

Simple to install, this is a complete solution, requiring only the iPad charging cable and a standard network cable at the desired length (also available from our online store):
This solution can work with any USB powered device for charging or continues power supply – web cams, tablets, phones, 3D glasses, toys etc.
We arrived at the Campus Center building and upon walking in we were welcomed by one of our mounts!

Brad's iPad Wall Bracket Review
I wanted to do a review of this iPad wall bracket I purchased from iPadWallBracket.com. My main reason for purchasing this unit is my wife wanted a convenient way to check our video surveillance system without having to walk to the monitor located in another room. She wanted something centrally located so anyone could easily see who was at the front door.
I initially shopped for a small LCD monitor, but ran across this bracket and thought of the convenience of using an iPad and how I could also use it for other things as well such as streaming music. Since the iPad uses Wifi, it easily connects to my computer to access my video surveillance system with a user friendly app specifically designed for this application.
The photo shows the back panel of the 2 piece bracket. The bracket can be flush-mounted into the wall, or surface-mounted as shown here.
Brad’s iPad Wall Mount Installation – Back Panel, Installed.
The quality, fit and finish of this unit are excellent. The company that created this product really did their homework. The bracket is made of metal and is light but sturdy. Even the screw holes are beveled! My initial plan was to flush mount the unit into the wall, thinking it would look better than surface mounting it. The bracket looked so good surface mounted that I chose not to cut my sheetrock.
In this picture you are looking at the backside of the face plate.
Brad’s iPad Wall Mount Installation – Front and Back Panels.
You can see the hinge insert tabs to the right of the bracket and the magnetic lock to the left. Notice the black foam pads on both the face plate and the base of the unit. These pads hold the iPad securely in place, not allowing it to move or get scratched. The later model iPad’s such as mine will require thicker pads to hold it securely as they are thinner than the earlier generation units. They also sell these pads on iPadWallBracket.com.
Some of the tools I used to install the bracket were just a simple Phillips head screwdriver and a couple of Phillips screws. iPadWallBracket.com sells mounting kits for these but I chose to use my own. I used a small level and a 3/4″ hole boring spade bit which is the size of the hole in the back of the bracket. This is to run whatever wires or cables you’re using. I’m running a charge cord to a charge cord extension that I will plug-in in my attic. I’m also running 3.5mm audio cable to my attic that then runs to a 3.5mm splitter to my stereos throughout my home. This allows for music to be streamed from different sources throughout my home. What a great feature that is!! Gone are the days of the CD for me.
This is a picture of my video surveillance feed.
Brad’s iPad Wall Mount Installation – with mounted iPad and Video Surveillance app running.
I have a high definition surveillance system and you really can’t find a better video screen than what the iPad offers. The picture is just incredible!! This unit will remain on all the time. As you know with an iPad, I can play music while still keeping my video surveillance on the screen!
Here is a picture of the bracket in relation to the wall and surroundings.

It is very discrete so surface mounting is a great option. I am extremely satisfied with this unit and look forward to installing my second iPad wall bracket soon, and maybe a bracket for the mini iPad as well.
Time will tell but these things are just fantastic!!

iPad Wall Bracket Black, Flush Mount, Exposed Home Button, Home Automation
Gary Russel, the President of LiveSmart Technologies, shared with us a recent showcase installation of a home control system Their goal for this project was to achieve the following functionality:
Smart Home system control
LiveSmart technicians chose for this installation the following Apps and systems:
The Lowes Iris system for central control
Q-See system for video surveillance
iTunes, Pandora and SiriusXM for music
Apple Maps App and Google Maps for Maps
The iPad’s built-in slide show for photo frame
For this home installation, the iPad Wall Mounting Bracket chosen was a white, Exposed Home Button, Magnet Latch version.
The installation went smoothly, and to quote Gary “The mount was easy to install and work with.” Our Remote Charging Kit was also considered for this job but ultimately not needed. An electrical outlet was utilized during installation close to the mounting bracket, therefore the standard Apple charger and cable provided was sufficient.

Garry summed up his experience of the installers working with our iPad Mounting Brackets:
“The iPad Wall Mount worked great for our application. The iPad serves as a central controller for the smart home including temperature settings, lighting control, video surveillance and music streaming. The team at iPad Wall Mount is first rate and went above and beyond traditional product support.”

From a distance a painting or sculpture is viewed as a “Work of Art”. Come closer and a museum patron sees something entirely different: Exquisite brush strokes, brilliant use of color and light, an artist’s thumb prints pressed in clay…and a small, minimalist, (usually white) plaque with the name of the piece, the name of the artist, and the date a piece was created.
This is a traditional museum experience. Now in the age of advanced technology, where any and all information is available at your fingertips, we want more! We require more information quickly and easily accessible.
Today’s audiences are much more demanding in terms of interaction and the desire for information on command –“ I want to know more, and I need it now”.
Until now, there have been but a few methods for museums to enable visitors to explore an exhibition interactively.
Picture yourself (no pun intended) standing in front of the Mona Lisa. Most of us already know she was painted by Leonardo Da Vinci, but we’d love to know more about the artist and his famous subject. Who was Mona Lisa? Why did he paint her?
Just then you notice three iPad Minis installed on the wall next to the painting! Brilliant! These iPads allow you to access information about this painting or any others done by Da Vinci. Or read the story of DaVinci the artist.. It enables you to ask questions as well. How was the Mona Lisa stolen in 1911?
Museums are starting a new trend in utilizing iPads in this way. Not only can they be mounted securely and stylishly without compromising the integrity of the art, they enhance any museum decor, and can also be charged while in place, and easily updated at any time without the need to dismount the device! A mount version that hides the iPad’s “Home” button prevents users from switching to any other App.
Visitors will love interacting with the artists! Create a new and memorable experience by installing iPads, showcased in their own sleek brackets that seamlessly integrate into any museum landscape.
